Loto-Quebec allows its employees to play online
Loto-Quebec is a very influential State casino company in online gambling industry in Canada. If in the past, access to online gambling was forbidden to its employees, the situation has changed a little over a month. In fact, Loto-Quebec published a memo on last June 22 which allowed its 4,500 employees in its casinos to bet on the online casino gambling site of the company. However, the regulation prohibits employees to gamble in the land based rooms and gaming salons of its casinos in Quebec. The decision of the State Company surprised its employees as it was never part of the union demands according to the President of the Employees Union Security, Riccardo Scopelleti. However, this is a privilege, because only employees of Loto-Quebec's casinos are allowed to play online. This is not the case in Ontario.
Employees of some State casinos in Canada are not allowed to play online. In Ontario, for example, the ban remains in force for the employees of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG). The reason is to ensure the integrity of operations of the company and especially to maintain public confidence. So, the relationship of trust between the community and Loto-Quebec could be put into play especially if the jackpot was won by a company employee.
