5.1% of casinos income drop in June - Maryland
Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency published recently figures from the State's casino industry in June. Maryland casinos have generated a total income of $ 91.4 million. If we put aside Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, the four State casinos show revenue fall of 5.1%. Opened in August, the casino of Baltimore contributed strongly to the market expansion. Therefore by registering the cash income brought by this new gaming facility in Maryland, the sector recorded an increase of 26.9% year on year in June. Indeed, the income of the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in June amounted to $ 23.1 million from 2,203 slot machines and 179 gaming tables.
Maryland Live! remains the most lucrative casino of the State with an income of $ 52.9 million even though its income was down by 6.3% year on year. The property features 4,060 slot machines and 202 gaming tables. Hollywood Casino Perryville located in Cecil County recorded 8.2% increase of its revenue to $ 6.4 million. The casino offers 850 slot machines and 22 table games. Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County recorded an income of 10.1% more and reaches $ 5.3 million with its 800 slot machines. Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County generated revenue of $ 3.7 million, which means 1% drop with its 579 slot machines and 18 table games.
