Online poker revenues rose in the month of July - Delaware
Delaware is one of the three States in the United States, alongside New Jersey and Nevada, where online poker is legal and regulated. Online poker market in Delaware has experienced a downfall in terms of revenue compared to that of other States which, month after month, has been increasing. The State of New Jersey generates the highest revenue with its $ 2,146,500 from online poker in July. According to figures released by the Delaware State Lottery, online poker recorded a revenue increase of 22.61% (July). But the market is still at its second lowest-generating month for the State of Delaware. In fact, the three racinos operating in Delaware only amassed $ 31,398 of poker online revenue. Certainly, a significant improvement was spotted in June, a $ 25,608 figure, but we are still far from the $ 57,468 recorded in May. Note that Delawares online gaming market in general fell by 38% in July to $ 5,510,993 from $ 8,844,489 in the month of June. Speaking of the overall e-gaming net revenues, the figures suffered a slight decline of 7.6%, from $ 187,332 (June) to $ 173,096 in July.
Delaware Park dominates the online poker market shares in this State; it now has 60% of Delawares total e-poker revenues. Dover Downs and Harrington respectively hold 31% and 9% of the market shares. Dover Downs recorded the highest leap in July with more than 29% of revenue increase. Besides, Dover Downs racino was the only gaming facility to see an increase in overall players' accounts in the month of July. It had 140 new accounts, 26 more than was recorded in June.
