Vicky Coren grabbed three awards home - British Poker Awards 2015
Held at the Hippodrome Casino in London, the British Poker Awards celebrated its annual event on Monday night by rewarding the best personalities, poker rooms and tournaments in the UK for the year 2014. While the Global Poker Index (GPI) ensures the same awards ceremony in the United States and in Europe, that in the UK is organised by Bluff Europe. This 5th annual British Poker Awards actually sees Victoria Coren Mitchell stealing the show with three highly-deserved awards for her two freshly-won European Poker Tour titles (San Remo). Vicky Coren stepped out of Hippodrome Casino with the Poker Personality Of the Year, Social Media and Performance Of the Year awards.
Notable players including Simon Deadman and Chris Moorman went home with two different awards. Simon Deadman is crowned Breakout Player Of the Year and Best Live Poker Tournament Player Of the Year, while Chris Moorman boasts himself as the Best Online Player and Players' Player of the Year. Eight other trophies were awarded during this ceremony: Dusk Till Dawn recieved the Best Card Room award, Red Tooth Poker won the Best Poker Leagues, Best International Player is Daniel Negreanu, Best UK Tournament is the WPT500 Dusk Till Dawn, Run It Once is crowned Best Poker Training Site, the Best Blogger trophy is awarded to Jake Cody), the Best Tournament Director to Toby Stone, and, the Best Contribution to Growing and Promoting Poker award is given to Rob Yong. The British Poker Awards 2015 is also marked by the absence of Sam Trickett. He has always been listed among the award winners in this poker awards presentation. And this is the first time he missed it.
