Lithuanias Matas Cimbolas claimed the title - 2014 Partypoker WPT United Kingdom
Dusk Till Dawn Poker & Casino played host to a major poker tournament last week, the Partypoker World Poker Tour United Kingdom. Highly talented poker player as he is, Lithuanias Matas Cimbolas wins the Main Event. He bested the six-handed final table of the event. At the beginning of the ultimate flight, Cimbolas Matas was ranked on top of the chip count ahead of Frenchman Antoine Saout and local title contenders including Ben Warrington, Tamer Kamel, Mighall Phillip and Patrick Leonard. After only 15 minutes of play, the first player left the table: Patrick Leonard. He finished sixth place for £ 39,500. Despite all this, Leonard had cashed £ 6,000 of prize for his second-place finish in the High Roller event run a few days earlier. The short stack of the final table, Phillip Mighall (£ 48,000), had his run cut to 5th place by Ben Warrington. Warrington also knocked Morlaisien Antoine Saout out. The 2009 November Niner fell to 4th place for £ 67,000.
With three men standing, Matas Cimbolas dominated the final table but Ben Warrington gradually grabbed most of the chips following Tamer Kamels elimination (3rd, $ 92,000). Ben Warrington entered the face-to-face battle with a chip advantage of 8.5 million against 1.6 million. Surprisingly, Matas Cimbolas rallied to claim the title thanks to an awesome comeback. Without a single doubt, Warrington was the Man of the poker clash; unfortunately, the WPT title along with the £ 200,000 first-place prize slipped from his grasp. As a runner-up, Ben Warrington consoled himself with £ 140,000.
