CPPT Caribbean Cruise: Five survivors for the final table of the Main Event
The cruise ship Oasis of the Seas of the company Royal Caribbean Cruise Line hosted this week the first edition of the Card Player Poker Tour Caribbean Cruise (CPPT). The players enjoyed a cruise in the Caribbean while participating in an interesting poker tournament. This innovative event in itself gathered 42 players for the Main Event of $ 1,100 including some well-known players like Barry Shulman, Allyn Jaffrey Shulman or Mark Gregorich. After a few days in the Caribbean Sea, there were no more than five players for the final table with a minimum gain of $ 3,720. Nate "Big Country" Patten leads the final table with a stack of 437,000 chips. Fred Samelian occupies the second place in the chip count with 280,000 chips, followed by Bob Deemer (276,000), Marie-Josée McDuff (167,000) and Matthew Burnitz (130,000).
Matthew Burnitz, the Day 1 and 2 chipleader, begin this last day as short stack. But despite his position, Burnitz is a player who should not be neglected during this final of the first edition of the CCPT Caribbean Cruise. Indeed, the player earned a reputation in 2012 when he finished second in the Main Event of the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open. His place of runner-up in the tournament allowed him to raise $ 642,434. Barry Shulman was the bubble boy of this final table after his elimination in the 6th place by the chipleader Nate Patten. Note that this final table will be held in Cozumel in Mexico after stops in Everglades, Florida and Labadee in Haiti.
