Dan Smith leapt past Ole Schemion - Global Poker Index
As expected, the Global Poker Index (GPI) rankings are undergoing up and down movement with the results from the ongoing 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) festival. As of June 17, 2015, the Top 10 overall is marked by Ole Schemions shrinking to 3rd position. It is Dan Smith who now secures the drivers seat. this enormous privilege is primarily owed to his recent feats and especially his 3rd-place finish in the 2015 WSOPs poker tournament No Limit 2-7 Single Draw Championship. Scott Seiver, for his part, remains in 2nd position while Pratyush Buddiga rounds out the Top 5. The latter actually jumped over 4 spots. Anthony Zinno also delivered a phenomenal performance with the 14 spots he jumped over; he is now ranked 9th position.
As for the GPIs biggest movers of the week, Jonathan Little is leading the way by jumping over 49 spots. This poker pro finished 6th place in the WSOP Event # 25, a $ 5,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Eight-Handed. Freshly-crowned Champion Brian Hastings, Scott Clements, Hans Winzeler and Jake Bazeley are also listed on the leaderboard. Speaking of the weeks biggest losers, Max Silver, Andrew Linchetenberger and Martin Jacobson are part of them. This coming week, Paul Volpe is expected to appear in the GPI rankings Top 10. In fact, Volpe has just captured a 6th-place finish in the WSOP Event # 37, the $ 10,000 buy-in Six-Max No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Brian Hastings could also see his position improved on the GPI Top 300. He is currently battling it out in the Event # 39, the $ 1,500 buy-in Ten-Game Mix.
