Chad Willett claimed the top prize of $ 96,760 - MSPT Meskwaki Main Event
Kicked off on March 27, the Mid-States Poker Tour Meskwaki (MSPT) event held at Bingo Casino Hotel in Tama, (Iowa) recently wrapped up with Chad Willett winning the poker tournament. He beat Rich Alsup in the heads-up. The event attracted 371 entrants, 36 of whom would make the money. When the two starting days of the event arose, 73 players came out qualified for the next day battle. Some would reach the final table while the others were sent to the rail, grabbing parts of the prize pool. The final table was set after the elimination of Darek Anderson in 11th place. Soon after the dinner break, it was Brett Reichard who joined the bench for $ 4,659 (10th). Thereafter, Ryan Hohenstein and Rodger Johnson hit the rail. The two poker players fell respectively to 9th ($ 7,167) and 8th place ($ 10,572).
James Livingston (7th, $ 13,976) and Robert Wittman (6th, $ 17,381) were kicked out of the race at time Level 27. Joe Mathesons run was cut to 5th place for $ 21,144. Mario Hudson (4th, $ 26,878 ) headed to exit a few hands later. It took several minutes to set the final showdown. Fallen to 3rd place ($ 33,436), Harry Finnimores elimination somewhat allowed Chad Willett and Rich Alsu to battle it out for the ultimate clash. Armed with a gigantic chip advantage over his opponent, 6.48 million chips against 905,000, a childs play as it seemed, it did not take long for Chad Willett to claim the MSPT Meskwaki Main Event win. He cashed the top prize of $ 96,760 while runner-up Rich Alsup was awarded $ 53,756.
