Michael Kane captured the win - ANZPT Perth 2015 Main Event
The Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) Season 7 kicked off its very first stop five days ago at Crown Perth in Western Australia. This poker event concluded last weekend with Michael Kane topping a total field of 192 players to win the top prize. The ultimate day of the ANZPT Perth saw 9 players in the hunt for the title: Gregory Wheeler, Michael Doyle, Raiden Kan, Michael Kane, Navin Bechar, Robert McLean, Michael Guzzardi, Bryan Huang and Stephen McHugh. Michael Kane had to travel thousands of miles to seal the win in this live poker tournament. The Scotsman stunningly managed to crush the whole field while entering the final table 5th in chip count.
Bryan Huang was the first finalist to head to the exit. His 9th-place finish allowed him to collect $ 10,500 of prize though. As for the eventual winner, he made a great step forwards by amassing the largest stack following the elimination of Gregory Wheeler (8th) and Robert McLean (7th). Both men respectevily walked way with $ 13,000 and $ 16,500. Then the field would gradually trim to 2, for the heads-up. The next players to join the bench are Raiden Kan (6th, $ 20,200), Michael Guzzardi (5th, $ 26,000), Navin Bechar (4th, $ 31,000) and Michael Doyle (3rd, $ 37,000). Michael Kane and Stephen McHugh subsequently met in the heads-up. Both players agreed on a deal for a respective guaranteed gain of $ 78,900 and $ 72,100, with an additional prize of $ 20,000 for the first-place finisher. The chance eventually smiled to Michael Kane after three hours of battle. After the ANZPT Perth, the next ANZPT meeting is scheduled from March 19 to 23 at Star Casino in Sydney.
