Anthony Apicella won the title - France Poker Series 2015 Season IV
The France Poker Series (FPS) Season IV Main Event concluded last weekend with Anthony Apicella winning the title. In fact, 22 players returned to the poker room of Casino Barrière in Deauville to battle it out for the Grande Final. However, only 8 of them would make it through the televised final table. The 22-player fields battle was a hard fought one before it played down to 8. Indeed, the list of the finalists was set when Sacha Israel hit the rail before the dinner break. Speaking of the heads-up, Anthony Apicella faced Felix Lambertz; eventually it was the first who emerged victorious. While Apicella pocketed the top prize of 197,000, runner-up Lambertz would console himself with 125,500.
Anthony Apicella has just entered into the history of the FPS with this Season IV victory. As a reminder, the circuit has hit a record-breaking attendance, 1,355 participants. Nicolas Hamouni secures the last place on the podium with 88,500. Ivan Luca finishes 4th for 68,500. Hitting the rail before him were Vincent Garat (5th, 53,550), Abdelkader Medjahed (6th, 40,110) and Yohan Figueiras (7th, 31,080) while Anthony Picault was the first player to get off the race. He walked away with 22,460 though. Against their will, many notable poker players failed to enter the ultimate day. Include the likes of Arnaud Mattern, Brian Benhamou, Ronan Monfort, Philippe Melnik, Jimmy Guerrero, Ilan Boujenah, Alessio Isaia, Rasmus Vogt, Simon Naydenov and David Vamplew.
