The ceremony is scheduled on January 30th - France Poker Awards
The France Poker Awards ceremony will be run in conjunction with the European Poker Tour Deauville. It will take place on January 30th at Casino Barrière Deauville-O2 Sofa Bar. Seven trophies will be awarded, including the Player of the Year, the Female Player of the Year, the Best Performance of the Year, the Rookie of the Year, the Ambassador of the Year and the Poker Industry Person of the Years. After Paris, GPIs France Poker Awards chooses to make an eventful stop in Deauville this year. Pending the official announcement, spreading rumours include Erwann Pecheux and Florence Allera among the potential nominees for the Player of the Year and the Female Player of the Years categories respectively. And this is evidenced by their noticeably high rakings on the Global Poker Index Player of the Year race. It is also worth noting that the nominees for the Jury Prize remain veiled. This year, the panel of jury include GPIs founder Alexandre Dreyfus, Bruno Fitoussi, Laurent Dumont, Matthew Sustrac and Bruno Benveniste.
Speaking of the four other categories, the names of the nominees are already known; some of them were listed on last years award nomination. Indeed, nominees for the Performance of the Year are Hugo Pingray, Laurent Polito, Erwann Pecheux and Pierre Milan; the Revelation of the Year sees Alexandre Reard, Pierre Milan and Hugo Pingray); the Ambassador of the Year includes Patrick Bruel, Jean-Marie Peyron, Erwann Pecheux and Quentin Lecomte while the Poker Industry Person of the Year lists Benjo, Victor Saumont, Hermance Blum and Duran Matthew. All of these personalities are notable figures both in live and online poker tournaments in France.
