Belgian Poker Challenge: A total field of 683 players in the Main Event
The third starting day of the 1,100 Main Event of the edition 2014 of the Belgian Poker Challenge (BPC) brought the number of participants to 683 poker players. 301 entries were recorded on Tuesday, December 2 in the poker room of Casino of Namur at the Day 1C. The day lasted longer than expected because it took place until 1:00 a.m. At the end of this third starting day of the BPC Main Event, 159 players survived with an average stack of 94,654 chips. Many international poker stars took part in this and we can mention Jack Salter, Sorel Mizzi, Bretrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Chino Rheem, Davidi Kitai and Jeff Madsen. If Sorel Mizzi (143,500), Jack Salter (75.100) and ElkY (21,800) are among the survivors, Chino Rheem, Davidi Kitai and Jeff Madsen were eliminated rather than expected.
Gheorghe Butuc is the chipleader with a stack of 319,600 chips, followed by Wim Neys (245,400) and Craig De Nys (230,200) to complete the top 3 of the chip count of the day. The Day 2 will take place today at 2:00 p.m. local times on levels of 75 minutes. Thomas Tsanis owns the biggest stack at the start of the day with 395,800 chips, followed by a few poker players who are also very well placed: Yin Cheng-wei (350,000), Gheorghe Butuc (319,600), Pieter De Korver (287,200) Wim Neys (245,400), Fabrice Henaut (240,000), Roland Van Morckhoven (238.100), Craig De Nys (230,200), Tom Janssens (226,300) and Fabrice Vanhaeren (221,100).
