Peter Chan as chipleader over the two starting days - APPT Macau 2014
Since Wednesday, the poker room of City of Dreams in Macau was filled with excitement thanks to the holding of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) in the gambling facility. Actually it is viewed as one of the biggest tournaments in Asia Pacific. The HK $ 25,000 ($ 3,225) buy-in of the APPT Macau Main Event brought together 494 players over the two starting days of the event. It attracts 106 more than last year. 212 players were registered at City of Dreams on Day 1A. After seven hours of play, Bo "Box" Xie found himself on top of the chipcounts with a stack of 166,000 chips. He was followed by Alvan Yifan Zheng (151,400), Jaswinder Suri (149,500) Liu Jiajun (142,800), Peyron Jean Marie (105,700). They are thus the top 5 survivors among the 87 players of that day.
The Day 1B was held last Thursday in which 282 poker enthusiasts participated, including the two well-known poker legends in the region, Raymond Wu and Celina Lin. Both players are among the 119 survivors of the day, the presence of whom rises the number of qualified participants for Day 2 to 206 including the other survivors on Day 1A. Peter San Chan Ping was the chipleader of the day with 141,000 chips, followed by Shivan Abdeen (124,800), Haifeng Xue (121,000), Wei Chen (119,600) and Zhiyong Long (117,300). The verdict of the Day 2 has shown the top 10 chipcount that is led by Bo Xie (166,000), Alvan Yifan Zheng (151,400), Jaswinder Suri (149,500) Liu Jiajun (142,800), Peter San Ping Chan (141,000) Shivan Abdeen (124,800), Haifeng Xue (121,000), Wei Chen (119,600), Long Zhiyong (117.300) and Shengqing Zhu (115,400).
