European Poker Tour Season X: The tournament started in Barcelona
After the Season IX full of surprises, which ended with the victory of Steve O'Dwyer during the European Poker Tour Grand Final Monte-Carlo, the circuit starts the new season with the Spanish step, which is currently taking place at the poker room of Casino of Barcelona. This new edition of the EPT Barcelona has 27 tournaments, among which the mythical Main Event, from September 1st to 7th, and will be accessible for a buy-in of 5,300. Two other major events are planned in the program, namely the High Roller at 10,300 and the Super High Roller at 50,000 of buy-in.
Since the introduction of Barcelona inside the circuit of the European Poker Tour in 2004, this city became an inescapable step of this European poker tournament. The first edition of the EPT Barcelona welcomed 229 players and was marked by the coronation of Alexander Stevic. Afterward, he was succeeded by Jan Boubli, Bjorn-Erik Glenne, Sander Lylloff, Sebastian Ruthenberg, Carter Phillips, Kent Lundmark, Martin Schleich and Mikalai Pobal. 1,082 players have taken the departure of the EPT Barcelona Season IXs Main Event and have generated a huge prizepool of 5,247,700, among which 1,007,550 went to Mikalai Pobal after a heads-up with Ilari Ilari FIN Sahamies. After Barcelona, the EPT Season X will link up with London (October 2nd- 12th 2013), Prague (December 8th- 18th 2013), PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in Bahamas (January 4th- 13th 2014), Deauville (January 22nd- February 1st 2014), Berlin and Monte Carlo for the Grand Final (April 23rd- May 2nd 2014).
