APPT Cebu : Kyung Sim wins the Main Event for 73,700
The city of Cebu, in Philippines hosted for five days a stage of the edition 2013 of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour in the Waterfront Hotel and Casino. 157 players took the departure of the Main Event of PHP 100,000, approximately 1,850 but only nine of them were selected for the final table. The Korean Jae Kyung Sim won the event and pocketed 73,700 that is PHP 3,948,700 intended for the winner. Having started the Day 3 as short stack, Kyung Sim was able to catch up his delay during the day to reach the final table beside Magnus Karlsson, Andrew Nguyen, Jim Collopy, Anthony Wright, Timo Kohijoki, Michael Allmrodt, Bawod Hyunshik Yun and Daniel Spence.
Sim achieved an exceptional finale by standing out as an executioner. In fact, the Korean eliminated six players during the finale table of this poker tournament, starting with the Australian Andrew Nguyen who stumbled on track just after 15 minutes of game. The turn of the German Michael Almrodt came then. Eliminated in the 8th place, he was joined shortly after by the Finnish Timo Kohjoki. After two hours of game, the numbers of players was reduced to five further to the elimination of the American Bawod Hyunshik Yun by Daniel Spence. Kyung Sim adds on his list the English Anthony Wright and the Swedish Magnus Karlsson. The latter was eliminated during the final head's up and as runner-up of this poker tournament; he pocketed PHP 2,538,000 or 47,400.
