WPT Baden: An excellent start of Kimmo Kurko in the Main event

The edition 2013 of the World Poker Tour on the European soil began this Tuesday, February 19 with the Day 1A of the Main Event. This first meeting of the year takes place in Austria in the small town of Baden. The first starting day registered 104 players who paid the € 3,300 buy-in. At the end of the day, 56 players entered the WPT Baden Main Event Day 2. The Finn Kimmo Kurko finished the day as chip leader with a stack of 149,700 chips. Behind, we find one of the finalists of the PCA Main Event2013, the Russian Andrey Shatilov totaling 134,700 chips.

Among the survivors of the day, there is Robert Hoogendoorn, Ismael Bojang, Steve O'Dwyer, Oswin Ziegelbecker, Alban Juen, Mihails Morozovs and Andreas Zauner who managed to integrate into the Top 10 in terms of chip count. Other marquee players also qualified for the Day 2 but with a smaller stack. These include amongst others Marvin Rettenmaier, Lukas Berglund, Jan Bendik, Dermot Blain and Kara Scott. But the day was not pleasant for everyone. In fact, players like Sergii Baranov, Barny Boatman, Scott Motgomery and Alex Dovzhenko are forced to retry their luck during the Day 1B if they still want to qualify for the Day 2. With this re-entry system, organizers expect a larger crowd during the second day of departure of this poker tournament in Austria.
