European Synchronized Poker Tournament: A new European tour
In addition to the World Series of Poker Europe and the European Poker Tour, the Old Continent will receive in a few weeks a new live poker circuit. The European Synchonized Poker Tournament (ESPT) is a tournament that is based on an original concept because the event will be held simultaneously in various places throughout Europe. France is one of 10 European countries selected to host stages of the ESPT. Another specificity of this circuit is that each step will take place in two phases: the qualification and the final. The Phase 1 is a deepstack tournament which will take place during two days and it will end when it remains only 3% of the qualified players for the final. Occurring two months after Phase 1, this final phase is based on the same structure as the qualification. Each final step is preceded by a new phase of qualification. So, qualified players for the final can immediately after continue with a new phase.
In all, the ESPT has 6 steps and a Warm Up which will be closed by a big event in December 2013 in Malta : the Malta Poker Dream Party ESPT. The ESPT Warm Up is available for a buy-in of 400 for a guaranteed prizepool of 150,000. For other events, the buy-in is 550 and the minimum prizepool is 500,000. The qualifying phase of the Warm Up will start from October 27 to 28, 2012 in Malta, San Marino and Slovenia, while the final will be held in Malta on January 24 and 25, 2013. The ESPT will continue with another step from January 25 to 27, 2013 for a final scheduled for February 28 to March 1st, 2013 in Malta.
