ANZPT Sydney: The title for the Scottish Gordon Huntly

The final table of the main event of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour ended last Sunday with a victory of a Scottish player, Gordon Huntly. The edition 2012 of the ANZPT Sydney was crowned with great success as 461 players took part in enabling this new champion come away with a bonus of $ 226,812. Huntly took home the trophy by ousting Liam O'Rourke, the final table chip leader at the final headÂ’s up. O'Rourque tried to dominate the game but after half an hour of confrontation, Huntly ended up by getting a great advantage and closed the meeting by his victory.

Note that the nine finalists stood out after about 17 hours of play during the final day of competition. While more than half of the 27 starters at the beginning of the day surrendered after 12 hours, the survivors had to play poker for five hours before the finalists were finally known. With his aggressive style of play, O'Rourke won a large advantage in chips. He was the only one to have accumulated more than 3 million chips. Unfortunately, he did not resist until the end and had to settle for the second place with a prize of $ 144,754. As one of the favorites of this tournament, the champion of the Aussie million, Olivier Speidel, had to settle for the 6th place. Anthony Aston was awarded the third place, Stewart Ballard, Jason O'Brien, Craig Blight, Lancken Bradley and Martin Rowe were respectively ranked in the 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th.
