Poker: The post career of some French football players
Poker is a game that attracts more and more celebrities in France. Thus, many top athletes including French professional footballers learned and practised this card game the most popular in the world like the former footballer Jean-Philippe Rohr. This latter converted to poker after a fantastic career in football and in Metz and as Olympic champion in 1984. Top-level sport, as we know, is a profession that pays millions but when the time of end of career comes, it's time to discover another world that pays as much as sport. Jean-Philippe Rohr is probably the former professional athlete who found his way by playing poker.
The former French international built a new image by becoming a great star in poker on the European and international level by being champion of France (1999 and 2005), winner of the Open de Cannes and Open of Portugal (2006), sixth in the PPT 2008 ... his beginning in poker was also marked by his victory in the JOA Poker Tour that allowed him to pocket a check for 40,000. Many other French soccer players still active have also chosen to play poker as Emerse Fae, Bernard Mendy, Renato Civelli, Cedric Carrasso, Cedric Hengbart or Camel Meriem. Cedric Hengbart even qualified for the round of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and the World championship of poker to be held in Las Vegas. A starting career in poker which already gives us a glimpse of what will be the post-football career of this player of Auxerre.
