ARJEL: 1.3 million player accounts created in France
45 agreements for 32 operators including 32 for poker, 15 for sports betting and 8 for horse betting. These are the statistics put forward by the Regulatory Authority of Online Games (ARJEL) in France during the first five months of the effective operating of the system. During these 40 weeks of existence, the Authority recorded 350 million in bets for the only sports betting sector. Another highlight of this assessment given by the president of the new regulator of the sector, Jean-François Vilotte is in the accounts open by players presently reaching 2.5 million and only 1.3 million of them are definitive, synonyms of controlled and verified identity cards. In addition, 1.7 million of these accounts have been active more than once while 500,000 accounts are moving in a week.
For more details, the president of the ARJEL Jean-Francois Vilotte said that sports betting had an average bet of 110 per week and 8 per bet. 700,000 were the number of players who bet once and 150,000 of them are regular. In addition, the first place is held by the king of sports which is football, which generated 57% of bet, and this discipline is closely followed by tennis, its main competitor estimated receiving 25% of stakes. However, horse betting is also not to be pitied because it accumulated some 314 million bet since the opening of the market in June 8, 2010, with 120,000 active accounts weekly. Poker for its part continues to evolve over the months.
