Internet Poker Gets Collegiate
Students at college campuses across the U.S. are trying their hands at internet poker. Some such students have turned poker playing from a hobby to a job, one with the potential to bring in more than just any old watering job. The increase in student players has contributed to the demographic shift, which is occurring in the poker world. Whereas poker's primary fan base lurked in the smoky backrooms of bars, the modern poker player is often more educated and some brings to the table talents in math and computers, using these skills to nab huge wins. Some students play hours a day, taking home thousands of dollars each month. One fortunate student has earned $18,000 playing poker online in just two months. Wins like these led him to quit his studies in order to pursue online poker full time.
