GPI: A big change in the weekly ranking
The Global Poker Index rankings had just registered a big change with the many tournaments that succeeded in recent months. Marvin Rettenmaier, Michael Watson, Philipp Gruissem and Bryn Kenney keep the first four places in the ranking but behind, there is a significant change in the Top 10. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier wins a place and moved up to the fifth position just before Jason Mercier, who also earned a spot. David Sands and Stephen O'Dwyer accessed in the Top 10 by winning respectively three and four positions. David Sands ranks seventh in the standings just before Stephen O'Dwyer, in the 8th place. Occupying the first place during the World Poker Tour Season XI, Matt Salsberg jump 9 places to climb to the 26th position. His 10th place at the WPT BestBet Open Jacksonville Florida of last week should further boost his position in the rankings next week.
Steve O'dwyer, Jason Mercier and Daniel Negreanu should also know a big increase following their results at the EPT Monte Carlo and the WPT Canadian Spring Championship. The winner of the recent WPT BestBet Open, Michael Linster, signed the biggest increase of the week by winning 199 seats and reached the 225th place of the ranking. The finalist of this event, David Diaz, is also part of the top 300 by winning 271 seats (249th). It is the same for Adam Levy (211th, 141), James Collopy (231st, 101), Franck Kalfon (268th, 70), Jean-Philippe Rohr, Torsten Brinkmann and Yosuke Sekiya. Benjamin Pollak, Pieter De Korver, Aku Joentausta, Owen Crowe, Dan Idema, Chady Ojeil, Amit Makhija and Talal Shakerchi are among the players who left the ranking of the best players in poker tournament of the week.
