WPT Bay 101: The title 2013 and the gain of $ 1,138,350 for Kai Chang
The main event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Bay 101 Shooting Star ended with the unexpected victory of Kai Chang. However, the public in the poker room of Bay 101 Casino expected a feat of Erik Seidel during this $ 7,500 buy-in event final. This latter was of course the favorite in this last round but Seidel lost his chance to clinch the victory after the elimination of Joe Kuther in the 6th place and Chris Johnson at the 5th place. With his relatively low stack, that player among the best in the world gave way after the attacks of Paul Volpe and settled for the 4 th position with a prize of $ 295,590.
Paul Volpe continued his run but he wasnt able to eliminate other players. He was awarded the third prize in the amount of $ 435,610. So in two weeks, Volpe earned over one million dollars in gains. As a reminder, he pocketed $ 651,170 thanks to his second place at the WPT LA Poker Classic. After the exit of Volpe, Kai Chang began the final duel with Joe Nguyen. He had a large advantage in chips. So, the path to the victory was easy for him because he obtained it after six hands. Chang surprised the audience as he managed to win in front of a field composed of many poker stars. He received a great reward of $ 1,138,350.
