221 players qualified for Main Events Day 2 battle - Macau Poker Cup
Since Saturday, Macao has become the Mecca appointment for the best poker players in the Asia Pacific region thanks to the holding of Macau Poker Cup. Included in the MPC agenda is the HK $ 11,000 Red Dragon event guaranteeing a prize pool of HK $ 5 million. By the end of the three starting days, it has attracted 808 participants, generating a huge prize pool of HK $ 7,837,600. Day 1C had the largest field with 447 entries including the 2012 CAPO champion Xing Zhou, Terry Fan, Tom Alner, Hoang Anh Do, Jian Yang, Iori Yogo, Sparrow Cheung, Hai Bo Chu, Steve Yea, Juicy Li, Thomas Ward, Yohwan Lim, Andrew Scott, Kitty Kuo, Raiden Kan and the Taiwanese Hip-Hop artist MC Hotdog.
After three successive flights, 221 players will return to the poker room of Macaus City of Dreams for Day 2 battle. The Norwegian Mikal Blomlie will enter the play as a chip leader with a stack of 169,500 chips. This Red Dragon Main Event also sees many Asian players running for the title. They are all armed with over 100,000 chips: Wing Cheong Chong, Jing Ke Li, Yang Renjun, Alan King Lun Lau, Lei Song, Yuanye Chen, Enming Zhang, Bin Hu, Zedao Ma, Chun Tung Wai, Quoc Tuan Hoang, Darian Tan, Xin Zhang, Mengyao Chen, Yan Cui and Jiaxiu Liu. Day 2 will be played on Monday August 11. It will provide each of the 108 remaining players a minimum ITM payday of HK $ 16,000. As for the winner of this 21st edition of the Macau Poker Cup, he will take home with a big prize of HK $ 1,667,000.
