GPI: Mercier remains at the head, Robert Mizrachi enters in the Top 300
As every week, the Global Poker Index (GPI) receives an update, further to the evolutions of players and their results, throughout the last months. The World Series of Poker 2013 have turned upside down the ranking of the two last months, to the point that some great names of poker left their place to less known players, in the classification of the Top 300. Jason Mercier keeps the head of the ranking, already since a few weeks, just ahead Philipp Gruissem, Daniel Negreanu, Marvin Rettenmaier, Michael Watson, Joseph Cheong, Stephen ODwyer, David Sands, Andrew Lichtenberger and Paul Volpe. And the Top 20 knew only a few changes, with the exchange of place between the two players of the famous Phil Ivey's Team, Dan Smith and Daniel Shak. Dan Smith wins a place and ranks in the 18th place, occupied a week before by Daniel Shak.
Eugene Katchalov was the unlucky of the week, with 19 places lost. The Ukrainian has participated in the 44th edition of the WSOP and did as better no than a 5th place at the Pot Limit Hold'em (Event #19). This week, he is in the 73th position, just ahead the winner of the High Rollers poker tournament of the APT Philippines 2013, in last April. As a reminder, Eugene Katchalov was already holding a WSOP bracelet, in 2011 and won the $ 100,000 Super High Roller of the PCA in the same year. After two years under obscurity, Robert Mizrachi makes his comeback in the classification of the 300 best players of poker of the world, in the 299th place. The American won three places, after a 3rd place at the Omaha Hi/Lo, Event #25 played in the poker room of Rio, within the framework of these WSOP 2013.
