WPT Legends of Poker: Jordan Cristos wins his first major title
After a few days or fierce competition in the poker room of Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California, the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker ended with the victory of Jordan Cristos. However, the final table was composed on one hand by great poker players like Phil Laak and Dan Heimiller and on the other hand by challengers such as Alexandru Masek, Ryan Goindoo or John Gordon. The final table started with the elimination of John Gordon. He was awarded with $85,080 for his well deserved 6th place in this poker tournament. As he started second in stack, Phil "The Unabomber" Laak has seen his hope to win a second WPT title flying away, on an all-in face to Jordan Cristos. "The Unabomber" finished in the fifth place and pocketed $109,385. A few hands later, he was joined by Alexandru Masek (4th, $156,790).
After he eliminated Alexandru Masek, Ryan Goindoo was the next eliminated by Dan Heimiller. After the latter started the day as short stack; then, Heimiller met Jordan Cristos in heads-up. But the winner of a WSOP bracelet in 2002 couldnt finish the tournament as he wanted it, in spite of an advantage in chips at the beginning of the final duel: 12,625,000 chips for Dan Heimiller, against 8,825,000 for Jordan Cristos. Following a reversal trend, the latter has taken control and won the title and the $613,355 for this remarkable performance. Runner-up of this poker event, Heimiller left the final table with $356,115.
