Telethon: The night of poker cancelled
Almost everywhere in France, many club of poker had organized themselves to take part in their way to the telethon, a fundraising broadcast event. Among these clubs, the Sanary Poker Club which organized a great tournament of poker in partnership with All out with the support of the town hall of Hyères-les-Palmiers (83) was part of this event. Initially envisaged to take place in the Forum du Casino, the poker tournament in favor of the event Telethon had been cancelled at the last minute. A deep resentment was detected in Marc Vaireaux, president of the association All out and co-organizer of the Night of poker. I think it is low from of the game brigade! It was for a good cause!.The law prohibited to make somebody pay to play poker, but there are often tolerances for French clubs of poker, has added.
To save the evening event, the organizers undertook negotiations. They were ready with all possibilities like doing it free, by simply offering some batches to winner, but that would have taken more time. The organizers understand the decision of the town hall and they reproach anything to it. Since the beginning, the town hall which supported the event, did not hide its sadness. The expense of participation was the reason which posed problem. According to the law, a tournament of this type must proceed in an approved establishment.
